A responsible cup of coffee

La Ciudad Invisible

Insider tip to: Madrid, Spain
Where: Constanilla de Los Ángeles 7, 28013 Madrid
On the line: www.laciudad-invisible.com

While living in downtown Madrid, this eco-friendly travel café quickly became my favourite place to write. Located just a sunny five minute walk from my flat, and always ready with a smile and a ‘café con leche’. And if I was lucky.. my favourite chair in the corner. From there I could observe people meeting for a snack, dropping in to get some LCI 1work done like me – or to plan their next travel adventure.

Because this place is all about travelling and appreciating the planet. That’s why you’ll find the shelves packed with new and second hand travel books. And that’s why the people behind it all, take a lot of initiatives to run this place as environmental friendly as possible. The use of water and electricity is reduced, and the kitchen is offering a range of Fair Trade products.

In this café you’ll experience a very laid back atmosphere on both floors, helped along by good-vibe world music and a changing gallery of photo art and paintings on the walls. Grab a coffee, a snack, a light meal or a drink and let your mind wander.

Don’t forget to check out the schedule of upcoming events like travel talks – or book yourself in for a travel related event of your own.
